Feature of Extruding Marshmallow Production Line:

  • 1 In the pre-mixer, all the ingredients to be dissolved and cooked.
  • 2 Then the basic slurry is continuously pumped to a cooker till the final moisture level is reached.
  • 3 After cooking, the slurry will be cooled and mixed with a separate whipping agent solution.
  • 4 Then the cooled “marshmallow base” is passed through the continuous aerator.
  • 5 The product then be divided and injection with different colors and flavors.
  • 6 The multi-color product is extruded ,and transported on a cooling conveyor for cooling down;
  • 7 The conditioned marshmallows are dusted top and bottom with starch, or a mixture of both starch and icing sugar in a separate dust cabin; the product is cut to the required length here.
  • 8 The dust cabin is kept under a strict control to prevent the “dust” spreading throughout the plant. The excess starch/sugar is removed.

Conveyor unit of marshmallow production line

Conveyor unit – The largest part of the marshmallow manufacturing machine is tasked with transporting ingredients to different production line stations.

The unit contains different conveyor belts, rails, and tubes for moving other processed marshmallow elements to various stations.

Molding unit – This part is designed for shaping the marshmallow to its respective configuration.

The forming system shapes the marshmallow mixture into desired shapes, such as cubes, cylinders, or customized designs. It utilizes various equipment, such as molds or extruders, to achieve consistent and uniform marshmallow shapes. The process starts by depositing a thick anti-sticking layer of starch or dextrose on the conveyor belt. The marshmallow is extruded on top of a thick layer of starch. At the end of the line, a top layer of starch is applied to fully cover the ropes of marshmallows, after which the products are cut using a guillotine. The frequency of cutting determines the length of the final product. After cutting, the product falls into a vibratory sieve where the product and starch are separated. The starch is automatically returned to the starch-depositing sprinklers.

It consists of a hopper, a rotating drum, and a powder sprinkling device, used for evenly sprinkling starch powder onto the conveyor belt to prevent marshmallow rope from sticking together.
